I really like this quote -
"'Yet such is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere."
Tolkien, LOTR, v. 1, bk. II, chp. 2

Fever's taken hold
As a child I read "The Hobbit" repeatedly. I only read "The Lord of the Rings" once, when I was a little older, as is perhaps befitting that work. Last year, I saw the film of "The Fellowship of the Ring" with passing interest. This year, I saw "The Two Towers." I had no memory at all of several things in the film, some, perhaps, because they aren't in the book, but some, like the Ents (the tree-men) I've been told definitely are. I suddenly wanted to read the books again. I haven't been watching television. I have been rushing through my classwork so I can read for a couple hours before bed.
Oh, Lord, what's next? The Silmarillion?
