Christmas Fun
Early last week I asked my sister what I could get her and her kids for Christmas. She said she and her daughter wanted certain books, and I could get my nephew a car that's part of a train set. The train set is a Thomas the Tank Engine thing, and my sister said they have those at Barnes and Noble. So I wouldn't have to experience the living hell of entering a B & N store this time of year, I ordered the stuff through their website. At the time I placed the order all the items said, "Usually ships in 24 hours." However, the next morning I came in to find an e-mail telling me something had been delayed and the package wouldn't ship until Dec. 21. Well, I'm leaving town on the 23rd, so I figured it wouldn't get here before I left. Last Friday, on my way out of town to see Rob, I stopped at a huge, new hellish mall to buy my sister's family's presents there. It sucked.
When I got to Rob's I logged onto the B & N website to cancel the on-line order, but I couldn't, because then it suddenly said it had shipped already.
So on my way out of town this Friday I get to go back to that designer dump and return what I bought last Friday. Hurray.
My sister also said she'd like for me to get my niece and my brother-in-law what she described as bracelet/arm-bands promoting this university. She said a uni near her had them and she assumed this one did too. I found something fitting that description sort-of in the campus store and I got two. Last night I wrapped some presents and I wrapped up those bracelet things with my niece's and brother-in-law's main gifts.
Today my sister wrote and said she'd like those separate to go in their stockings.
Too late, sis. That ship has sailed.
In other news: Monday night I worked out. Tuesday I swam nine or ten laps - I lost count. Last night I got my hair cut by the affable drag-queen guy who has taken over the beauty parlour - er, excuse me - uni-sex salon - in the basement of my apartment building. It's a pretty good haircut but I'm not sure it's worth the $30 I paid for it.

I Did It
I carried through my plan and I worked out Thursday night. It felt great. It really felt like I was making solid progress.
I've probably said this before, but it kind of amazes me that I can say things like "I worked out and it felt great," because I was totaly anti-athletic when I was younger. I dreaded PE class and I never played on any teams.
