Coca-Cola Connection
I have gotten into the habit over the past several months of buying a 12-pack of Cokes and bringing one in with me every day I work to have with my lunch. It's cheaper than spending 70 cents to $1.20 every day, plus, the Coke machine in this building rips me off half the time.
But since I was out of town for the Fourth, and the drive back Monday afternoon was hellish in the heat, I spent as little time as possible at the grocery store Monday evening, and a 12-pack of Coke was something I decided I could live without for a few days.
Because of the construction going on around here, the vending machines are getting a lot of traffic from construction workers at lunchtime. Yesterday I was headed down to try to buy a Coke from the machine, and there was already a construction guy beating on the thing. So I abandoned that plan.
Today it occurred to me that if I go buy a Coke from the machine early, before that lunchtime construction-worker rush, the thing might still be working. I could stash the drink in the refrigerator in the break-room until lunch.
It worked perfectly.
Well, as long as no one steals my Coke from the refrigerator.
