Lou Reed
I saw Lou Reed last night at the Carolina Theatre. It was a good show, and thankfully - since I'm not as young as I once was and had to be at work at 8 am today - an early show. The opening band that was scheduled had to cancel, and instead of finding a replacement Lou just started early. I'm interested in him primarily for his involvement with the Velvet Underground. He played two songs from those days, "I'm Set Free" and "I'm Sticking With You." I thought the latter was a weird choice, since while it was recorded in 1969 it wasn't released until 1985. This morning though I saw that the Velvet Underground's drummer for most of the time they were around before 1970, Maureen "Moe" Tucker, re-recorded the song and released it in 2002.
