Fall Break
This week is fall break, although you can hardly tell since I'm still working. I wish I had arranged to take some time off this week - I'll try to remember that next year.
But I am taking off tomorrow. I have some errands to run at the other Uni and I hope to leave town right after lunch.
I had some practical things I had to accomplish this week. I finally got three thousand miles on my car so I needed an oil change. I also needed a haircut. I've crossed both those off my list; they're done.
I also modified my exercise schedule this week. This fall I've been lifting Monday nights, and swimming laps on Tuesday and Friday. I swim on my lunch breaks, and on Wednesday and Thursday, when I have class, I only take a 30-minute lunch and therefore don't have time to swim.
So I was thinking that this week I could swim more. But then I read something in a men's exercise magazine (I buy these for the photos, but sometimes I actually read the articles). I read that if you're trying to build muscle limit your cardio. Made sense to me. So I decided instead of swimming more to lift one other day this week instead and have a rest day in between two days of exercise, one lifting, one swimming each.
I'm making some progress. I do more work on my triceps than I do on my biceps, and my arms are finally getting a little bigger.
